A friend of mine wants to show me the forgotten beach in Zadar. The forgotten beach.. the name makes me curious! I can´t wait to see it!
The Bamboo Beach Café
Before visiting the forgotten beach we are going to a beautiful beach café called Bamboo for (…what else) a coffee. It is situated next to the beach and offers an amazing view beyond the horizont. We are sitting down not 2 meters far away form the coast taking about this and that…
After about 2 hours sunbathing we start exploring the forgotten beach. On the right side you can see a little lighthouse, so small it hardy attracts attention. We are passing by along a path crossing pine trees. After a few meters we are reaching the forgotten beach.
The forgotten beach
I´m beginning to realise why it is called the forgotten beach.. no human beings anywhere! In cosy togetherness we are start to explore the surrounding along the coast.
Since you are not able to see the horizont from the old city of Zadar (you are looking on the islands) it is beautiful to look at the infinite width. The stones are not comfortable made for tourists to have a cosy bed surface but are rough and natural. They are literaly picturing their own past.
The crystal clear water shows the underwater world. For those who want to got for a swim, they should be more careful than usually. Slipperly grounds making it hard to go into the sea. A few meter later you will as well find a short sandy part.
At the end of the forgotten beach you can find the Borik Beach.
Even though you can´t find any human beings during the day, the beach is popular during the night. Young people are coming here you enjoy (mostly) forbidden things. If you want to join them you should be careful.. the police stops here as well from time to time…
